Marissa and Randall’s wedding was a day to remember. There is nothing we love more than a wedding that is heart felt and filled with so much emotion. Streams of tears, smiles so wide, and endless laughter filled this day beautifully.

You can view their engagement session here.

Randall and Marissa had their engagement session in the Art District in Downtown Los Angeles.

We started about midnoon and enjoyed the colors other artists had painted on the walls.

Engagement sessions are a great time for us to get to know our clients better.

We spoke about what they looked forward to most about their wedding, what was left to be planned, and what excites them most about married life.

We learned that Marissa is absolutely in love with Randall and love his jokes. It was hard not to photograph her laughing.

I learned that me and Randall are both Louis CK fans.

Stay tuned for their Orange County Wedding!

Kat and Jan were married at the end of summer at the Retro Ranch in Temecula, California. They were referred to me by one of our  favorite second shooters, Ferdinand.

Kat and Jan both love to rock climb and paintball- I doubt they do both at the same time, but I may have just created a new sport.

From what I can remember, it was 110 degrees on their wedding day- people were anxiously fanning themselves to stave the heat.

A dry hot wind blew and it made it hard for the mothers’ to light the candle as the ceremony started.

The anxiety went disappeared and time slowed as soon as Kat began walking down the aisle.

There were several tears that dropped and laughters shared that day.

My favorite moment was when Kat’s dad had pulled the trigger a bit too soon and mistook Kat and Jan’s first dance as the father-daughter dance. Jan played on like a true gentleman and kept his cool.

Right after the first dance, a flashmob broke out and a large group of cousins, colleagues, and friends danced in celebration of the beautiful newlyweds.

Enjoy their photos as we enjoyed being a part of their wedding.

I photographed Rae and Mark last august at Balboa Park in San Diego. I thought that it might’ve been a place that I’ve shot at before and when I got there, boy did I have a surprised look on my face. Balboa Park blew me away. I couldn’t believe how big it was. I’ve tried to make it back a few times, but I haven’t taken the time to go through the entire park.

I had a lot of fun with Rae and Mark during their engagement session. We talked about how they met at an airport (note the plane in one the shots.) We cracked jokes and laughed all the park as we stopped and took photos from spot to spot.

After shooting past the sunset, we finished the night off by grabbing some In-n-Out somewhere along the 5.

Enjoy their engagement session and stay tuned for their Long Beach Wedding!

We enjoyed Chris and Raquel’s 10th  wedding anniversary at the Cicada Lounge in Los Angeles. Their party had a 40’s theme to it.

Raquel renewed her vows in a way that we’d never seen before, she sang it to him.

From the moment we started, you can feel the love from everyone that was present that day.

The bridal party, the guests… everyone seemed extremely talented. Raquel, who works as a make up artist, did the make up for several of the guests to her event.

Chris, one of the kindest men I’ve ever met, put many of the details together for the wedding.

Happy Anniversary Chris & Raquel, and thank you for having us at your very special night!

I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographer for one of my oldest friends.

Their wedding took place at the David L Baker Golf Course in Fountain Valley.

Stay tuned for the more gorgeous images from these two!

Let’s talk about second shooting. In almost every wedding I photograph, I bring along a second shooter(sometimes a third.) A second shooter isn’t an assistant, they’re there to photograph a wedding alongside the main photographer. An added set of eyes or a second shoulder to help with the stresses of wedding photography, but usually they’re there to provide just the right amount of moral support.

On my weekends free, I’m usually more than happy to help other photographer friends shoot weddings. These weddings give me a chance to sharpen my skills, try new angles, and meet some awesome people.

I photographed this wedding alongside my friend, Craig from Craig Norris Photo, sometime last year.

I’m grateful for every wedding I photograph and the awesome people I meet in them.

During this wedding I met a hilarious cast of characters from the bridal party. The almost serious, but not quite so, groom, Austin and his amazingly wild bride, Laura.

I loved their attitude about everything, super laid back and so easygoing that it wouldn’t have been hard to forget I wasn’t a guest at their wedding.

Special Thanks to Craig for allowing me the chance to second shoot this 🙂

We photographed Lisa and Kimo’s Destination Wedding in Las Vegas this past fall.

The day started out as most weddings do, I noticed it was a bit cloudy for that day, but it was fine because I figured it was a good way to be spared from that Vegas heat we’re all so familiar with.

Everybody involved in the wedding was a bit more on the wild side- which I enjoyed. Lots of goofy moments, which to me, are the best in weddings. It’s nice to be able to slow down and enjoy those silent magical moments between a bride and groom but sometimes, it feels great to be able to laugh out loud- (not text message LOL where you just chuckle silently, but a hysterical cackle.)

Right before the first kiss, the clouds became dark and we heard thunder. And as soon as they shared their first kiss it began to pour.

The rain didn’t stop Lisa or Kimo. A little rain never hurt anyone so we all got a laugh out of it and proceeded with the rest of the wedding.

My favorite moment of this wedding was their wedding cake- or actually the lack of it. We were all crazy hungry and needed something to put in our stomachs. Now, because Lisa and Kimo’s reception was taking place at a later date, I wasn’t going to be able to cover their first cut of the wedding cake. What to do… what to do… I came up with the idea that instead of a cake, we’ll just do their first slice of pizza together! Lisa took a bite from Kimo’s slice and Kimo took a bite from Lisa’s. It was adorable. We’ve also seen the cake, cupcakes sometimes, but how many of us have seen pizza for this part of the wedding?

This wedding, like Las Vegas, was all about having fun and making memories. I’m just thankful I got to be part of it.
